Round 8 Preview

This week’s games will be headlined by the South Australian match-up between the Crows and Power on Thursday evening. Due to Adelaide’s struggles in recent time – despite winning two of their past three games – their opponents should go over as the favourites.

With both teams set to throw everything at each other, it is hard to go past Jesse Hogan as the opening goalscorer. The Giants forward has been in terrific form and will be eager to take his game to another level against their rivals.

Despite it being the Sydney Derby, the Swans and Giants have been two of the best teams this season. It’s hard to go past the Giants, considering they will enter the clash with a price of $2.00.

If the Kangaroos are to remain competitive on the weekend, they will need to get off to a quick start as soon as possible. While an upset could be on the cards, it will only be feasible if they are able to score quickly.

The North Melbourne Kangaroos are still winless, but could this week see them produce an upset? In every game that the Saints are clear favourites, they are always pushed to the limits by their opponents.

While many may expect the clash to be played in the midfield, the two teams boast some of the best forward players in the competition. Even though they have strong defensive players, a high-scoring game is on the cards.

The Demons will be looking to claim their opponents first loss, however Geelong remain unbeaten and have cast a shadow of doubt over their critics. Still undefeated, it is hard to go past yet another Geelong victory.

One of the safest bets for this week, Bombers forward Kyle Langford has been in sensational form and will easily be able to boot at least two goals this weekend.

While they may have lost to the Gold Coast Suns last week, the Eagles have won two of their last three and are playing back at home in front of their fans this weekend. Although they are outsiders, they are at an incredible price and likely to walk away with the four points.

If the Dockers can get off to a quick start in the opening quarter of the game, then they can be expected to keep the lead for the remainder of the match as Richmond have struggled to comeback in recent times.

Slowly reaching the form that saw him become a superstar in the midfield, Andrew Brayshaw has been improving in the past few weeks and is an extremely vital piece in the club’s midfield.

An elite defender of the competition, James Sicily has managed to register several disposals per game despite the club’s poor form. An excellent intercepting marker, Sicily will have ample opportunity to record touches against the Bulldogs inside his club’s forward 50.

The Western Bulldogs are slowly finding their form as the season approaches its halfway point, while the Hawks have continued with their struggles.

No matter which club – Lions or Suns – walks away with the victory at the end of the match, it’s hard to see either team emerge victorious in every single quarter with a close game expected.

Emerging as the favourites, the Brisbane Lions should once again get the wood over their inner-state opponents. However, a close game is expected with the Suns set to push them to their limits.
