AFL Round 7 – Tips and Preview

After a slow start to the season, Charlie Curnow has been on fire for the Swans as of late, having recorded three and four goals in the past two weeks.

With no Marcus Bontempelli, the Bulldogs’ midfield depth is severely tested and it is hard to see them overcoming this to produce an upset against the best team in the AFL competition.

Scoring just 55 last round, the Richmond Tigers are likely to struggle to put points on the scoreboard again this week and will be completely dominated by their opponents.

Due to the Demons having a good chance of putting together a big score, don’t be surprised to see multiple players get their names on the scoresheet. Kicking two goals earlier in the season, Max Heath has a chance to do it again.

Playing his best match of the season last week, Nick Watson was able to boot five goals for the Hawks. Expect him to try and continue this standout form heading into this weekend.

In his last three matches, Jarman Impey has racked up 23, 26 and 26 possessions, which have helped the Hawks control the midfield.

The favourite to win the 2025 ANZAC Day Medal, Nick Daicos is set to have another big match for the Magpies which will see him rack up a ton of disposals as he looks to help the side control the midfield and forward line.

It’s to hard not to go with the Collingwood Magpies. In what is expected to be a back-and-forth contest like most ANZAC Day clashes, the Bombers just struggle to perform in the big moments and haven’t had the best start to the year.

The match may be taking place in South Australia, but the Power have struggled to find consistency this season, while the Cats are coming off a dominant performance.

Geelong star midfield-forward Bailey Smith is arguably one of the most elite players in AFL Fantasy and has no trouble putting on big scores, week in, week out.

The Carlton Blues have continually struggled during this year’s campaign, meanwhile, the Dockers have been one of the best teams of the competition.

A consistent performer in the midfield, Andrew Brayshaw has been one of the best for the Dockers and racks up possessions with ease.

Although the St Kilda Saints are the clear favourites heading into the match, don’t expect the score to be a blowout as the Eagles have shown that they are able to keep the margin to a minimum.

Forward Jack Higgins has easily been one of the Saints’ best when it comes to kicking goals and he should have no trouble adding his name to the scoresheet this week.

Back-to-back AFL winners and reigning premiers, the Brisbane Lions deliver consistent performances every week and will have no trouble downing the Crows.

While the victory may go in favour of the Brisbane Lions, Jordan Dawson has been an elite ball-getter and has always managed to tally a great AFL Fantasy score.

The Giants seem to always get off to a fast start in their matches. As a result, it’s hard not to see key forward Jesse Hogan kick at least one goal in the opening quarter.

The Kangaroos may push their opponents to their limits this weekend, but despite whatever their form may be, the GWS Giants are near unbeatable at home and always deliver in front of their fans.
