AFL Round 17 Preview

The Kangaroos may be sitting near the bottom of the AFL ladder, but that hasn’t stopped their players from racking up possessions with ease. Colby McKercher is one of these players and has been in tremendous form as of late.

Western Bulldogs forward Aaron Naughton has some of his best matches against the Kangaroos. This has seen him kick two or more goals in his last five matches against the club.

Surprisingly, the Blues have led at half-time in 11 of their matches this season but have only been able to turn six of these into victories. Expect them to start strong before Collingwood takes over the clash.

While most have praised this season, Nick Daicos has gone to his older brother Josh, who has racked up 30 or more disposals in four out of his last five matches.

Picked up in the mid-season draft, Tom McCarthy has been one of the shining lights for the Eagles over the past two weeks, registering 31 and 29 disposals.

Coming off kicking two goals last week, Callum Brown has scored three or more six-pointers in three of his last five matches and will look to do the same this week.

Over the past three seasons, Noah Anderson has taken his game to new heights and proven that he is a key piece of the Suns’ midfield. In three of his last five matches, he has collected 35 or more possessions.

The Bombers’ back-line is extremely undersized, so expect the Suns’ forward line to take full advantage of this. Jed Walter is a good shout to at least score one goal.

In four of his last five games, Coleman Medal leader Jeremy Cameron has kicked at least four goals. Expect this number to be higher this weekend as they take on the out-of-form Tigers.

Geelong defender Tom Stewart may not have registered 30 disposals for some time, but when half-backs take on Richmond as of late, they have been able to gather possessions with ease, such as Wayne Milera, Nick Blakey and Lachie Ash.
