With Zach Merrett likely to be tagged out of the game, the Bombers will need to rely on their other midfielder to help gain possession of the ball. Look no further than either Darcy Parish or Nic Martin.

Kicking three goals in his last two matches, Patrick Voss will be out for vengeance against the Bombers who are missing their first choice defenders. Previously with Essendon, he was delisted by the club with registering a single appearance.

When entering the match as underdogs, the Brisbane Lions have covered the line in 12 straight matches.

The Lions may enter the clash with some inconsistent form, but they do have a 4-4 record against the Cats over the last five years and have won the previous two fixtures against them.

Since returning to half-back, Colby McKercher has looked like a different player and has secured 35 and 27 disposals in his last two outings for the Kangaoors.

Staying with North Melbourne, forward Paul Curtis has kicked nine goals in his last three matches against Carlton, so it is expected that he will once again stand up in the forward 50 against the Blues.

While it’s hard to see Sydney winning, expect the clash to remain close. In four of their last five wins against the Swans, Port Adelaide has won it by less than 25 points.

Port Adelaide forward Sam Powell-Pepper has made the Adelaide Oval his own. In his last eight matches, he has been able to kick one or more goals.

Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has easily been the standout for the Saints this season and will look to attract plenty of the ball again this week. In his last eight matches, he has been able to record 25 or more disposals.

The two sides may be entering the match on completely different forms from one another, but the last four games between these competitors have been decided by less than 20 points.

Lachie Ash will look to continue his streak this week of recording 25 or more possessions – he has done this in 12 of his last matches.

Jesse Hogan has been unbelievable for the Giants over the last two seasons and taken his game to a new stratosphere. The full-forward has been able to kick at least two goals in 11 of his past matches against opponents in the top eight.

With a massive blowout expected, Aaron Naughton may be the safest bet of the weekend. In five of his last six games against Richmond, the forward has been able to score three or more goals.

The Western Bulldogs have demolished Richmond in their last two outings, and the same is expected to happen this week, so bet on a big blowout being on the cards.
