For the first time, Charlie Curnow will go up against his former team after making the move to the Swans in the off-season. Expect him to be the primary target in the forward 50 and to attract plenty of attention in the opening minutes of the contest.
Final Thought
The Sydney Swans enter the Opening Round under great form and unfortunately the same can’t be said for their opponents, the Carlton Blues. Don’t be surpised if you see a masterclass from the Swans in front of their hoime fans to open up the regular season.

It’s hard to go past Suns forward Ben King. The impressive forward has been one of the side’s best in recent memory and unlike opposing key forward Jeremy Cameron, he won’t attract much attention in the forward 50 allowing him to roam and pick up some easy goals.
Final Thought
The Gold Coast Suns have built a fortress at their home venue in Queensland and have rarely dropped a game when competing there over the past three seasons. Entering the season under high expectations, they are the clear favourites for the Opening Round.
