The A-League is back for a frantic month of football action to crown a champion for the 2019-20 season. Brisbane Roar look to cement a top-four finish against ladder-leading Sydney FC on Monday.

A-League Tips – Brisbane Roar V Sydney FC

History: Played 43: Brisbane 16 V Sydney 14 (13 Draws)

Last meeting: January 31, 2020: Sydney 1 d Brisbane 0 Netstrata Jubilee Stadium

Final Thoughts: Brisbane Roar’s finals spot is secure, while Sydney FC have locked up the Premiers Plate. But both sides are eager to build confidence and momentum ahead of the playoffs.

This is the fourth-placed Roar’s last regular-season game. Since the restart they have recorded a loss to Adelaide (1-0), a win over Melbourne Victory (2-1) and a draw with Wellington (1-1).

Scott McDonald scored against the Victory and Phoenix, giving the veteran Socceroo six goals from his last six appearances.

Sydney are nine points clear of the field and still have two matches to play. But they will be desperate to get back on a winning track after losses to Newcastle (2-1) and Melbourne City (2-0) and a draw with Adelaide (1-1) in their last three. It’s a disappointing run given they had lost just two games and been held to only three draws in their first 21 games.

Luke Brattan returns from suspension tonight for the Sky Blues.

Sydney FC have won seven and drawn one of their last 10 against Brisbane Roar, emerging victorious in the last three straight.

Adam le Fondre scored a hat-trick in a 5-1 drubbing in Week 9 and netted the sole goal from a penalty in a 1-0 result in Week 17.

The defending champs are slight favourites here. Expect their championship qualities to start re-emerging.

Tip: Result – Sydney @ $2.40
